How It Works

Net Energy Metering (NEM)

The energy that’s generated from the solar PV system will be consumed first, with any excess energy exported back to the TNB grid as credit. You’re right, sell it for credits. The credit earned will then be used to offset your electricity bill based on an offset rate.

Self Consumption (SELCO)

Any energy generated from the solar PV system is for your own use. If there’s excess energy, you’re not allowed to export it back to the TNB grid, nor are you allowed to offset or roll it over.
